Barry Mcguigan v Eusebio Pedrosa Boxing

It can't be overstated just what an amazing occasion this fight was for British and Irish boxing - not just the fight and the night itself but the weeks and days leading up to the fight. Pedrosa was a great champion and was going to take some dethroning. Barry was the pride of two nations. He kept politics out of his career, save for the white dove of peace he adopted. 19 million fans tuned in to watch the fight on TV, a massive audience by any comparison. I was one of them, watching on a TV in Leeds town Centre with what seemed to be a swarm of fans in every pub and bar. The fight and the rest of the night I will never forget. I can imagine that was the same for every town and city throughout the UK and Ireland....Thank you Barry.
