From 5-9 November, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction at Incheon held the 3rd Leadership Development Forum on Mainstreaming Adaptation and Disaster Reduction Into Development (MADRiD) where over 30 development planners from Armenia, Cambodia, The Gambia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Mongolia and Republic of Korea met to discuss the future of development and risk reduction in their nations.
Armen Chilingaryan, Disaster Risk Reduction Project Coordinator at the UNDP Office in Armenia describes the evolution of disaster risk reduction in his country, highly prone to earthquakes, and the centrality of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015: Building the Resilience of Nations and Communities to that country's development activities.
