As we come to the end of 2016, we are looking back at the big stories that made headlines. Her story has been one of immense courage. For 16 years, Irom Sharmila had been on a fast to protest against the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act or AFSPA in Manipur. This year, she decided to end that iconic protest and join politics instead. A decision that divided her supporters.
