Catching my first wave... not just in Brazil... but in my whole life. Quite a few surfing legends were born here in Guarujá, Brazil. I don't expect to be one of them, but I was thankful to have a great teacher helping me surf for the first time.

Brazil has some of the best places on earth for surfing. Guarujá is a costal city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. It's about 1.5 hours by bus from São Paulo city.

In case you are in Guarujá and need a teacher, @adriano_lima_doda is great. He was so kind and helpful to me even with the language barrier. Astúrias beach was a great place to learn as the waves were smaller the day we went out.
