The first track off upcoming Modern Folk artist Megan Linfords latest release.
Megan Linford, a Hampshire based contemporary folk artist, came on the scene early 2013 and has since been seen, regularly playing at gigs and festivals across the South/ London. Megan received the 2014 Sussex Young folk performer award. In Summer of 2014, Megan released her debut solo EP; ‘Withered Leaves’. The EP was inspired by a love for poetry, nature and the works of Shakespeare. Throughout 2015, Megan continued to gig and travel with her music, reaching as far as Aviemore, Scotland in the summer and finishing her BA(Hons) in Music performance.
2016 has seen Megan join forces with the band and together they have worked to form the 2nd EP – ‘Rhiver’. The band includes; Megan on acoustic guitar and vocals, Charles Harris on lead guitar, Jack Beech on bass, Kris Walden on drums and Amy Burrett on fiddle. Rhiver, a Hawaiian term meaning ‘peaceful river’, is a body of music emphasising change. A push for change in the world that has been suffocated and suppressed, a personal change in the life of Megan and those around her and a feeling of growing and moving on. Taken from the first track, the music brings a message to keep swimming ‘down the River Flow’ and to not follow in the destructive paths of those before.
