멕시코 강진 사망자 230명...한인 1명 포함
A frantic search-and-rescue operation is underway to find children and adults trapped under the rubble of a collapsed school in Mexico,... brought down by Tuesday's seven-point-one magnitude quake.
At least 21 children have been confirmed dead... along with five adults in the elementary school.
Ro Aram reports.
There are believed to be dozens more still missing under the debris of the Enrique Rebsamen school, located in the south of Mexico City.
There is a glimmer of hope as a young girl has been found alive after workers saw her hand moving beneath the rubble and a nail-biting rescue attempt is underway.
Rescuers are threading a hose through the debris to get her water, and they are moving slowly and carefully as the building is still unstable.
They are also strongly urging bystanders to be quiet to better hear calls for help.
There are also reports of a couple of people being successfully pulled out.
This school is just one of dozens of buildings that have collapsed due to the quake and search operations are continuing in the capital, Mexico City, and elsewhere affected by the tremor.
In total, the death toll has reached at least 230, but that number is likely to rise, and a South Korean man in his 40s has been confirmed to be among the dead.
President Enrique Pena Nieto has declared three days of national mourning.
