We visited Tulum 6 months ago. When we came back, it was obvious something had changed for the worse.

In today's Mexico travel video, we are in the Pueblo Mágico Tulum, Quintana Roo. It's one of our favorite places in Mexico. When we made travel videos here last time, they included Coba ruins, the Tulum ruins, cenotes, jungle adventures, the beach, and lots of delicious Mexican food. You can watch those videos in this playlist: [ Ссылка ]
This time, Maddie gets the worst haircut of her life and we make an unplanned trip to Playa del Carmen. We eat some incredibly tasty Tulum food and also check out a Tulum beach club with a spectacular view—even though we got rained out, it was quite a fun time! Finally, we talk about what happened to Tulum since we were here 6 months ago. Tourists should be aware of some Tulum scams.
----OUR MINI GUIDE TO TULUM, QUINTANA ROO----
WHERE TO EAT IN TULUM
1. Fonda Huauzontle - Order the Poblano Omelette and you won't regret it!
2. Mulberry Project (The Zebra Hotel) - We enjoyed going here on 2-4-1 Tuesday where the drinks at the bar are discounted. Although the food is more expensive than in town, the views and beachy atmosphere can't be beat!
3. Burrito Amor - We absolutely loved our stuffed-to-the-max burritos with their gluten-free coconut tortillas.
4. Malquerida - This is one of our favorite restaurants because they have huge portions for decent prices AND swings to sit on while you eat.
5. The Good Burger - This restaurant is on the main street in Tulum. The vegetarian burger is the best burger I've ever had! You can even get it with a gluten-free bun.
6. Thai Tulum - You can get Thai food right off the main drag in Tulum.
7. Azafran Tulum - They have a great little garden area at this restaurant where you can enjoy a big, hearty breakfast for a great price.
8. Ki Bok - The coffee at this little cafe restaurant is amazing! We also tried the chilaquiles with a rich salsa roja. You can also eat out in their outdoor garden area.
9. Cerveceria Chapultepec - For the cheapest drinks in town, you can come to this restaurant. Just watch your bill! They may try to write a bogus total that includes their desired tip without explaining that.
WHERE TO STAY IN TULUM
1. Due to how expensive the nightly costs are at the beach hotels, we recommend finding an Airbnb in town. Get $40 off your first stay with our link: [ Ссылка ]
WHAT TO DO IN TULUM
1. Take a trip to one of the dozens of cenotes close to Tulum. You can snorkel and swim in the refreshing, crystal-clear waters of underground or open-air cenotes.
2. Visit the ruins nearby. We really enjoyed the Tulum ruins with a view of the ocean and also the Coba ruins which are deep in the jungle.
3. Check out the ocean road with tons of unique boutique hotels, restaurants, and shops. It can get quite expensive though, so watch out for that!
4. Take a tour. There are so many tours to choose from in Tulum. You can do paddleboarding yoga, jungle tours like Selva Maya Eco-Adventures, and everything in between. You'll never be bored!
