How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at the Optronics Amber Warning Light for your truck with a magnetic base. Now when you add these types of devices to your vehicle, generally it's gonna fall into the line of emergency first responders, industrial warehouse environments, commercial applications, people that are snowplowing, anywhere where you need that increased visibility for the safety of everyone around you. Generally, in loud environments, you'll have some kind of visual cue like this to let you know that there's a truck moving about, so let's take a closer look at our light and see what is special about it. As far as our dimensions, we are right at 4 3/4 diameter, and as far as our height, we're right at 4 11/16 tall. So as far as that, it's gonna fit pretty well on top of your vehicle. Another thing that's kind of cool is the fact that it is J845 compliant, meaning that you're gonna be able to get light from your unit all the way around it from all sides, but it still maintains California Title 13 compliance, so you don't have to worry about your LED lights affecting people or wildlife around you.
As far as the system itself, it is completely sealed out, so that's gonna give you the highest level of protection against debris and water, that's IP67, so that's gonna keep the solid debris that's even smaller than you can see with your eye as well as water hoses and jets from getting to the internal components, and especially the thing that makes this stand out is the fact that it has electromagnetic shielding, 'cause you can get noise or interference from LED light arrays and the circuit boards with that, so this is actually shielded so it won't have any issues or interfere with any sensitive equipment that you have around it. Another real cool thing is the fact that this is a Class 1 signaling device, so SAE Class 1 is gonna be the highest rating, so that's what's used for emergency responder vehicles, industrial uses, basically that means the output on it is greater than 8,100 candela value, and that's just basically how bright it gets, and just for an example, Class 2 is four times less dim, and then Class 3 is 10 times less dim. Your 12-volt accessory is just gonna plug right into your 12-volt outlet. You're just gonna pop that right in your dash, and then you have access to the power, and that's gonna give you that red LED indicator that lets you know that you're on, and then you're gonna have your momentary switch here that allows you to toggle through the different settings, and that comes in handy. You have 10 different settings, and 11 if you count the setting where it just goes blank.
And you can see on the bottom here, you have a padded magnet that's not gonna damage the finish on your vehicle. One thing to consider if you have a Ford or another vehicle that does not have a magnetic roof, there are brackets that are available that you can mount to the top of your roof that allow you to have that connection using metal. If you're sharing your light between vehicles or it's more of a seasonal opportunity to use your warning light, it's not a bad idea to go with this type of option. The way that your cord runs down from the roof, it just tucks between the insulation in your doors, so you don't have to worry about anything being crushed. Alternatively, if you we inchesre looking for a more permanent solution, going with the permanent mount is gonna give you all of the functions but the ability to customize the location of your buttons and your toggle switch.
So again, this is Ed with etrailer.com taking a look at the Optronics Amber Warning Light rated for Class 1 SAE. Have a great day.
