While you might not want to bet your life savings on it succeeding, it may be possible in the near future to harness the power of LENR (condensed matter nuclear fusion, or trapped neutron catalyzed fusion (TNCF), to produce synthetic non-radioactive platinum isotopes from the vastly more abundant tungsten isotopes.
