This is a cost analysis on the last batch of 50 Jumbo Cornish Cross chickens I raised right here on Freedom Farm SC. I purchased these day old chicks @MeyerHatchery and raised them for 9 weeks. I did not include in my cost the $10 for ice and $22 for propane on processing day. Raising your own food on a homestead, organic or not, is very rewarding.
