This video content describes the journey of the 198-strong members of Philippine Military Academy Matikas Class of 1983.
The PMA Matikas Class of 1983 produced 92 general officers:
58 - 1-star;
25 - 2-star;
6 - 3-star; and
3 - 4-star
This accomplishment of one PMA class makes the Matikas Class of 1983 one of the distinguished classes of PMA.
Another feat achieved by Matikas '83 is the designation of 3 Chiefs-of-Staff and 1 Acting Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Consecutively, Gen Dodo Iriberri, LtGen Dovie Miranda (Acting capacity), Gen Bong Visaya and Gen Ed Año assumed command and leadership of the AFP.
Also worth mentioning is the period when the AFP and its three major services, Philippine Army, the Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Navy, were under the command and leadership of officers belonging to one PMA class, the Matikas 'Class of 1983:. .
In 2016, the following was recorded:
Chief-of-Staff AFP - General Bong Visaya;
Commanding General, Phil Army - then LtGen Ed Año;
Commanding General, Phil Air Force - LtGen Gary Fallorina; and
Flag-Officer-in-Command, Phil Navy - VAdm Ronnie Mercado
Late 2016, when Gen Bong Visaya retired from active service, the following was also recorded:

Commanding General, Phil Air Force - LtGen Gary Fallorina; and
