Hainan Airlines performed the first flight between Beijing and Mexico City on March 21st. The airline's Boeing 787 was formally welcomed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on its arrival. This is the first Chinese airline to add nonstop flights to Latin America to its scheduled flight list.

In the last five years, bilateral relations between Mexico and China have increased, and this direct flight is one more step towards greater connectivity between the two countries.
