At the start of 2024 I felt myself entering a creative rut. I needed something new to spark my inspiration... a new challenge, a new craft to master.

Stepping into the world of analogue photography was never something I anticipated... and when I bought my dream 35mm rangefinder, a 1965 SS Leica M3, I had no idea it would come paired with a lens that would go on to be my favorite lens to use on my mirrorless cameras for both photo & film work.

The Leica Summicron 50mm V3 is a truly special lens, and one that I think more creatives should think about pairing with their modern setups. The world of vintage lenses is vast... and I have plans to dive even deeper into that ecosystem. But... for now, this little lens from Wetzlar, Germany is everything I need.
