Today’s video includes drilling out and replacing rivets, installing bolts and nuts, and applying waterproof caulking. All of these are basic skills which can be used for various projects. Our project uses these skills for replacing a roof bungee on our Flagstaff A-frame trailer.
The roof bungees (or elastic cords) were showing end-of-life signs, which made it difficult to open the roof safely. They needed to be replaced, so we show you how we did it and what worked for us.
Materials needed:
¾ inch shank Rivets
Machine screws and nuts
(2) 3/8 inch diameter x 50 inches long nylon cord (Bungee)
100% waterproof silicone sealant (Caulking)
Tools needed:

Utility knife
Rivet gun
Small wrench (to fit nuts)
Angled Philips screw driver
Caulking gun
