The cave is embedded in symmetrical, hexagonally jointed basalt columns that were formed from lava flows by cooling and pressure. It’s located on the Scottish island Staffa, Inner Hebrides, Scotland. The cave's arched roof lends it remarkable natural acoustics that harmoniously echo the sound of the swelling ocean waves within it.
How to get to the Isle of Staffa? You can go on boat tours from Oban. You can visit Fingal’s Cave on a day trip from Glasgow, as it’s only some 90 miles (150 km) or a 3 hours drive away. Take your camera with you and you might be able to photograph some cute puffins.
