A bomb exploded on a tourist bus killing at least four people, including three South Korean tourists and their Egyptian driver in Egypt's Sinai on Sunday (February 16).
According to the New York Times, the bus was carrying more than 30 people and was parked in the town of Taba near the border with Israel in southern Sinai where it was preparing to cross into Israel. An explosive device was reportedly placed under the driver's seat in the vehicle. Four people were killed and another 24 people were wounded by the blast.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. South Korea's Foreign Ministry said 32 South Koreans were on the bus and the tourists were Christians from the same church in South Korea, Reuters reported.
The bomb blast was the first attack on tourists since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi by the army in July. The bombing came as the trial of Morsi and 35 co-defendants on charges of espionage and collusion with militants to launch attacks in Egypt began in a court in Cairo.
