Mark Jaccard is a Canadian educator and writer who has been working on climate change solutions for the past three decades. His expertise lies in energy and materials sustainability. He works closely with the Canadian government in advising and designing sustainability policies that concern energy generation and resource management, and has served on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Since 1986, he has been a professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
His most recent book, The Citizen's Guide to Climate Success released in January 2020, draws on Dr. Jaccard's latest research to refocus the conversation of how citizens can truly leverage their voice and power to drive ambitious climate action. Earth.Org sits down with Dr. Jaccard to discuss his book, his research and his outlook for the future.
