A viewer had some questions on the turbo setup. So I made this video to hopefully answer some of those questions and show that it is a simple system that most people can duplicate. There is a book on turbochaging vw bug by CB performance called turbomainia that has a lot of good information, but I will admit they do push the blow through setup as they sell it. A boosted VW can be drivable just like a carburated bug, but you do have to respect it. If you try to give it boost at every stop light( and for a while you will) it will run hot! If you drive it with sanity and it is tuned properly it should give you no trouble. A boosted VW motor is not for every application I.E. BUS in my opinion. But is the best way to extract power from our humble little motors. Building your own turbo system will require some work and skills, but should not be out of reach for someone who can install dual carbs and tune them. Hopefully this video helps you make a decision on which way you want to go on your project.
