In celebration of Summerhill School’s centenary, the Summerhill Festival of Childhood and IDEC 2021 took place online between the 30th of September and the 5th of October 2021. More than 150 contributors presented, joined community discussions, shared ideas and performed. Most of the festival was recorded and we are happy to share it on this Youtube channel.

In one of Greta Thunberg’s speeches she summed up her campaigning as the need for people ‘to act on the science’. The problem with the current education system is that there is an academic focus on subjects, such as science, but a lack of attention as to how to act on the science. Greta Thunberg has acted. But we still have a crisis – crucially due to a failing educational system. There are solutions to this, though.
