WHAT’S EHLERS-DANLOS SYNDROME?
I was diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome early 2020. My symptoms include comorbid diagnoses, as well as moderate-to-severe hypermobility of multiple joints, daily joint subluxations and rare dislocations, weak cartilage, and weakness of other connective tissues.
EDS is a rare, genetic, connective tissue disorder that causes certain mutations to aspects or types of connective tissues and results in connective tissue that is abnormally weak, fragile, and stretchy. Connective tissue is found in all parts of the body, including your organs, ligaments, and joints. As a result, people with EDS can be affected in all of these areas, as well as more. Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, my type, is estimated to be the most common form of EDS and the most painful. The disorder is somewhat rare, hEDS is estimated to affect around 1 in every 5,000-20,000 people. However, it's speculated by many to not be as rare as we once believed.
WHAT OTHER STRUGGLES DO I FACE?
ADHD, gastroparesis, orthostatic hypotension, tachycardia, palpitations pac pvc, PTSD, major depression, generalized anxiety, migraines, dyslexia, TMJD, asthma, vocal cord dysfunction, and GERD
