The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction of the Jimeta Shopping Complex at a cost of ₦19.7 billion.
This decision follows the recent demolition of the complex to pave the way for its remodeling.
The state's Commissioner for Information and Strategy briefed journalists on the council's meeting, revealing that the project will be carried out by three different companies, with a completion timeframe set at 20 months.
Addressing environmental concerns, particularly regarding flooding, the government advised residents of riverine communities to take precautionary measures and relocate to higher grounds.
The administration also stressed the importance of maintaining health and safety standards during this period.
