A rare Mediterranean tropical cyclone is gathering pace near the Greek islands, with a potential landfall expected tonight and tomorrow morning. The storm currently contains winds near hurricane force, and hurricane gusts could be felt on the southern Ionian islands overnight before the storm starts to weaken.
This video is based on information from 7pm EEST Sept 17, 2020. Movement is expected to pick up quickly after tomorrow as it leaves Greece and shoots southwards towards the African continent, likely dissipating along the coast of Libya on Sunday.
