Thousands of residents and tourists in Benin gathered in the coastal town of Ouidah, to celebrate the annual Voodoo festival. The festival commemorates victims of slave trade between the 16th and 19th century. The coastal town of Ouidah is where people were passed through as they were taken to the Americas to work as slaves.
