The pieces in this video are collected mainly from Lillooet in the Fraser River and in Northern BC.

The pieces I find that have the most potential I cut with tile saw then polish or apply clear coat to see what they will look like when polished. The bear is a famous carving found in many gift shops in Canada they are often done by company called Jade Mine Canada.

Good quality Nephrite will allow a good amount of light into it and have a high metallic ring when hit .

Upper North BC Nephrite usually has bright green dots/lines of Chromium and the black is Manganese.

Fraser River Nephrite can be many colors from white to orange to black to dark green or very pale apple green and mixed.
