The fashionable and very popular ski resort in Germany Garmisch-Partenkirchen is located at the foot of the highest mountain in Germany Zugspitze (2962 m). The historical part of Partenkirchen was badly damaged in a fire in the 19th century. Only a few houses have survived: Alte Haus (Ludwigstrasse 8), Gasthof Fraundorfer and some others.
