Feminism has a long and storied history and we should not forget the importance of those events as we move forward in the feminist movement. In this talk, Colleen Bunn gives an impassioned history of the feminist movement and how those triumphs of the past are still relevant to our future as a feminist movement today.
Colleen Bunn is an Assistant Director of Residence Life here at Miami University. She previously spent 4.5 years at Connecticut College, serving as an Area Coordinator and advisor to the student run Women’s Center. She graduated from Dickinson College with a BA in English and Theatre Arts in 2004 and Shippensburg University with an MS in Counseling-College Student Personnel in 2007. At Miami, she is the advisor to F-Word (Feminists Working on Real Democracy) and will be starting as a doctoral student in the Educational Leadership program in Fall 2015. Colleen hails from Northeastern PA and is looking forward to getting back to her public speaking roots through TEDx. She is a passionate activist and feminist and believes that student affairs is her calling. She is running her first half-marathon in May. She currently lives in Oxford with her husband, Matthew, and their many fish.
