The new-generation Volkswagen Amarok 2023 range isn't just about V6 power and $80K models.
There are two much more affordable dual-cab 4x4 options at the opening point of the range - the Core base model work ute, and the tradie-friendly but still nicely-specced Life grade.
I tested these two different models at their launch in Victoria - so, I didn't get to do my usual daycare drop-offs and that kind of thing. But I did get to drive a Core with one-tonne (1 ton) on board, and I drove the bi-turbo Life spec across a mix of different roads, including some off-road driving.
This isn't an offroad review, though. I focused on the specs, details, driving, interior, tub dimensions, technology, safety, ownership and warranty details you will want to know about.
Watch and see if you agree with me that this could be a really good option for customers who don't want to bomb mega bucks on a new double cab bakkie / ute.
