In CBN's continued efforts aimed at tightening down on cryptocurrency trading, the apex bank has penalised six banks for N1.314 billion over alleged non-compliance with a regulation on cryptocurrency accounts.

According to the apex bank, the fine is necessitated to ensure that commercial restrictions on cryptocurrency trading are in place.
