Indian offiicials have declared a public health emergency in the capital, New Delhi because of deteriorating air quality.
Chronic air pollution in and around India's capital, New Delhi has dipped to a new low this year, leading some scientists to liken it to smoking 50 cigerettes a day.
Residents are complaining of sore eyes and throats and some flights have been disrupted.
