Mildenhall returned to Island seeking revenge as the Warriors tamed them on the Smallbrook shale earlier in the season. Both teams were without key riders, Mark Baseby missing due to injury along with Fen Tigers Captain Jon Armstrong so rider replacement was put in operation for both sides. The Warriors also handed Nick Phillips his debut at reserve following the retirement of Matt Saul.
