Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank made a joint press statement with Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto after the Turkey-Hungary 8th Term Joint Economic Commission (KEK) Meeting. When asked by Maccar journalist about whether Hungary will buy HIMARS MLRA systems of USA origin, Minister Varank made an offer by implicitly referring to the artillery missile systems developed by ROKETSAN such as TRG-230 and TRG-300:

“I don't know if Hungary will take a step or not, but I can say that we produce alternative products in Turkey, and if there is a need for them, we are ready to provide the necessary support for these products.”

Hungarian Minister Szijjarto said, “When we buy weapons, the first thing that comes to our mind is the allies. NATO countries, such as Turkey and other NATO allies. We also have an agreement with Turkey. There are open offers on the table. Of course, the Ministry of Defense evaluates all this first, and then the government.” gave the answer.

ROKETSAN can meet different needs with artillery missiles of different diameters (122 mm, 230 mm, 300 mm) that can be used on the same launcher platform. TRG-230 and TRG-300 missiles can be considered as an alternative to the 227 mm M-30 missiles used by HIMARS. The TRG-230 is a closer substitute for the M-31 missiles, while the TRG-300 missiles have a longer range and a larger warhead, but up to 12 (2×6) TRG-230s can be carried per launcher, while up to 4 TRG-300 missiles can be carried.
