Come ride with me as we go 10 laps around the famous Monza circuit in Project Cars 2 Virtual Reality on my Oculus Quest 2 sim racing headset running wirelessly at 120Hz.
I'll focus mainly on my impressions and thoughts having raced mostly on a single TV display. I feel you can be better connected to the car and track in VR so hang around as I go through my throught process and rookie my way to the finish.
The sim rig I'm racing in is a GT Omega Titan racing cockpit with a few added DIY immersion mods. For more info on my sim rig check the video links below.
Hope you enjoy!

Configuration Steps:
For anyone interested here is how I configured my gaming PC with an 8th gen i7 and 3070 RTX graphics card to wirelessly stream PC2 to my Quest 2 headest @120Hz.
Note that unfortunately there are quality settings that need to be configured in 4 seperate places.
• Quest 2 Headset Airlink Settings
• Oculus PC App Device settings
• SteamVR app specific settings
• Project Cars 2 Performance and Visual FX settings
I don’t think it could get any more fiddly than this but nevertheless here is how I set them all.
I started up the Oculus PC app and in Settings Beta tab I enabled Airlink(beta).
Next, in the Quest 2 settings app of the headset, I enabled the experimental feature 120hz and then connected it via Airlink (beta) to my PC.
I then went onto my desktop PC and in the Oculus PC app settings I clicked devices, clicked the picture of my quest headset which reveals a settings side menu on the right. In that side menu I clicked advanced settings and ensured I could see 120Hz there and also set the resolution multiplier to custom 1.3. I then closed that side menu and left the Oculus PC app open.
I then went back to my headset which was running Airlink and clicked the Airlink settings icon (icon of a headset) and changed the bitrate from Dynamic to Fixed and set it to the maximum bitrate it would allow, in my case I could set it to 200mbps. I then started up SteamVR since my copy of PC2 was purchased on the Steam store. With SteamVR Home open clicked the cog settings icon and configured PC2 with the following settings:
• Refresh rate 120Hz
• Custom resolution multiplier 2860x2904 (128%)
• FOV 100%
• Override world scale off
I then launched project cars 2 and in the options tab I set the following:
Project Cars 2 Visual FX
• Exterior sun flare non
• Interior sun flare none
• Post procession filtering on
• Bloom off
• Heat haze off
• Exposure compensation 1
• Rain drops no
• Vignette no
• Crepuscular no
• Screen dirt no
• Cockpit mirrors on
Project Cars 2 Performance Settings
• Texture resolution medium
• Text filtering ansiotropic 4x
• vSync yes
• MSAA off
• Post AA SMAA low
• Super sample nothing set
• Reflections ultra
• Environmental maps ultra
• Car details ultra
• Track details ultra
• Pit crew details ultra
• Enhanced mirrors yes
• Motion blur low
• Rendered frames ahead 2
• Detailed grass high
You will need to restart PC2 after changing it's graphics settings usually, so restart the game and that's it, I hope this helps!
