In May, Kerry McCarthy MP held a video call with naturalist Chris Packham to discuss why he started his petition calling on the Government to ban driven grouse shooting. The petition received 111,965 signatures before closing due to the 2019 General Election.
In the call, Kerry - then a member of the Petitions Committee – and Chris discuss his and fellow petitioners' concerns about the impacts of driven grouse shooting on the environment, animals, and people.
Since 2016, petitions calling for driven grouse shooting to be banned have received over 400,000 signatures.
