Getting the manual features in video on the GF1 is like getting a whole new camera. It is great to be able to dial in the settings exactly. However, adjusting settings while filming is not recommended. The sound from the clicking wheel is annoying and the changes in picture are distracting.

However, I love setting up each scene perfectly and then using manual focus as I go.

There is one caution here though. Don't save any of the custom settings while in manual video mode. It will save them in that mode with only one way to change it back. That means you can't take pictures at all in that mode.

If you accidentally save it that way then just go to another custom mode, load it, and then save it over the custom mode you overwrote with the video only mode. Whatever you do don't overwrite all four of the modes. I am not sure you can recover from that without resetting the camera completely back to factory settings. Which will also reset you picture numbering.
