Did you get stranded over Christmas because of the airlines, treated like crap? Welcome to the new normal for air travel in America. Airlines basically do whatever they want because they can.
Four airlines control the American skies, and where you live is usually controlled by one single airline. So if you live in Houston, it's United. Charlotte? It's American Airlines. In Baltimore, it's Southwest. In Atlanta, it's Delta, which some people say stands for Drag Everyone's Luggage Through Atlanta, funny.
And one of the major airlines, Southwest, failed over Christmas, and it caused a national emergency because airlines are now too big to fail. And despite taking billions of dollars in bailouts, airlines are mostly terrible.
In the end, I blame the government. They should have never allowed the airlines to merge and have the market power they currently enjoy, and they should have never been given bailouts during COVID.
