Recently there has been some questions regarding the resetting and refilling of Modified T58 Carts for the PRO 3800 and 3880s
So in this two part video I will cover the very steps you need to perform in order to properly reset and refill you modified T58 carts.
Remember that a full factory new cart weighs in at 150 grams. Though they state they have 80 ml of ink, they actually contain 90 ml. That is done to maintain an extra buffer of ink and insure that when the chip states it is empty you still have some ink left in the cart. Practically ALL epson carts behave that way.
OF course, you can NEVER alloW your modified carts to ever reach less than 15% and if they go lower than that, you may not be able to effectively reset that chip. If left to go to EMPTY you can not use that chip at all.
The goal is to fill the cart so it weighS in at a total of 150-151 grams. That means since an fully " Bone Dry" cart weighs 60 grams, you will have to add the difference between 60 and 150 grams in ML of ink.
A cart to be refilled should never weigh less than about 90 grams to insure that your chip will reset. You weigh the cart, subtract the weight from 150 and that will give you the number of ml to inject into the cart to fill to official factory volume.
You will see just how easy this is!
