Sadie POV
I woke up in my pink bedroom feeling refreshed and anxious to be graduating. I followed my usual routine and put on my white dress that I bought with the girls for this. I flounced down the stairs and mom made Liam and I take a few pictures before she let us leave to go to Niall's.
"LIAMMMM!" I yelled, once we were in his car. He flinched and started the car.
"Geez, Sadie!"
"Liam, don't tell me you aren't excited to be graduating high school TODAY!" I squealed.
"Sadie you have got to stop doing that!" He said, laughing and punched my arm. I ignored it and blasted the radio.
We arrived at the school for a quick dress rehearsal. Cara was listening to Harry's valedictorian speech for what must've been the millionth time but she seemed to be just as interested as the first time, every time. Good for her.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist from behind and lips pressed against my neck. I leaned into Zayn and held onto his arms. "I can't believe we're gonna be out of here after today." He said softly but there was a lot of excitement in his voice. Then, we were told to sit down.
Liam and I were sat next to each other considering we have the same last name. The principal ran us through the outline and we had to file into a room until we did the walk to our seats. It seemed like we were waiting for ever when they told us to walk politely in a single file line to our seats. We sat through boring introductions and thank you's before Harry took the stage to present his speech.
"Hi, I'm Harry Styles. I'm honored to be able to stand here and represent the graduating class. Graduating is a special time where we all reminisce on the past and look forward to the future. A time where we reflect on the mistakes high schoolers make and decide whether or not we will learn from them. Graduation is a time where you get a blank slate. A time to restart.
All this has happened before, and it will happen again. Some of us will move on to bigger and better things, doctors, lawyers, musicians, artists, maybe the person to cure cancer is sitting right here. Wherever we go we all will remember where it started. Right here, with these people.
I remember my first day of high school. I was making paper planes with Seth Broden and we got sent to the principal's office, on the first day! I'd like to think I've matured from that. Who are we kidding? But Seth? I hope you find a girl just like you." Harry was smiling and Seth was too. He had no idea Harry was taking a jab at him for what he did to Kayleigh. I chuckled and Liam was grinning.
"Who else? Laura?" He looked straight at Laura Dillon, she started to blush and it made me sick. This was the girl Zayn sort of went to when I left. I rolled my eyes. "Just, pace yourself. You've got a lifetime ahead of you." Her eye brows furrowed and she looked around confused. I laughed quite loudly and earned a wink from Bella as she turned around from a few rows in front of us. "Jennifer?"
"Oh god." Liam whispered.
"Jennifer, what a colorful person." Was all he said. She glared at him and he chuckled. "I'd like to thank Lucy Caldwell and Kayleigh Foster for making this year awesome! If it wasn't for them our prom, parties, dances, trips, carnivals, we wouldn't have any of it!" We all clapped and cheered for them and Liam turned around and blew Kayleigh a kiss. It was sweet.
"I guess my only advice is to focus on what's important to you. This is your life. No one else's. Whatever your passion is, whatever you love, do it. You decide your own future. Do what you want, add a little bit of love and live happily ever after." We all stood and cheered, threw our hats and the whole deal. I grabbed Liam's hand and squeezed it, feeling tears in my eyes. His eyes were dancing and that was all the moment we needed. We knew exactly what the other was trying to say without saying it. Our hands dropped and I saw Zayn running towards me. I ran at him and jumped into him arms and he spun me around kissing me. He put me down and we were both laughing.
After hugging and saying good luck to just about everyone in the entire school I found my way back to my friends.
"This is it." Niall said shrugging. I shrugged back.
"I guess" I responded. He pulled me into a big hug and I held onto him for a long time.
I took Zayn's hand and rest my head on his shoulder.
"To best friends" Lucy said taking my hand in one of hers and Niall's in the other who took Louis and so on. Once we were all holding hands a wave of emotion ran over me and I started to cry, causing all the other girls to. Zayn squeezed my hand and kissed my forehead. I couldn't stand all the uncertainty, but I knew we would all live happily ever after.
