I love the music in this video, and for me, the volume has to be UP - be careful, it starts low and builds.

The Welland Canal allows for ship traffic between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, all part of the Great Lakes Waterway, and diverts boat traffic around Niagara Falls as opposed to over it, which is a good thing, right?

Some Conners family history - My Grandfather, Hugh Conners, worked in Port Colborne as a stonemason on the so-called Fourth Canal, which entailed widening and deepening of the earlier builds of the Welland Canal. Hugh lived there with his family, and it was in 1921 that my father was born, making Port Colborne his birthplace. The family considered Peterborough and Bowmanville, Ontario, to be home, and was in Port Colborne only for a period of time for the work.
