Yellowstone season five, part two, has returned to continue the story of the Dutton family, with Kevin Costner no longer in the series after a public spat with producers Taylor Sheridan. John Dutton's death was staged to appear as a suicide, but later revealed to be staged by a hitman hired by the girlfriend of one of his sons. Costner, who led the series for four and a half previous seasons, admitted he was unaware of the return and defended his decision to not leave the show.
