Here's my final video for this November; an epic 06-reg Citaro on the 724. The 724 is a very long route from Heathrow Central to Harlow via Ware, Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans, Watford, Rickmansworth, and Uxbridge. The route is one of the last remnants of the GreenLine network which once covered a large portion of London and the Home Counties.
The GreenLine routes operating as of November 2020 are:
Operated by Reading Buses:
702 - Victoria to Legoland Windsor/Bracknell/Reading via Hammersmith, Slough and Windsor. Uses E400MMCs
703 - Heathrow T5 to Bracknell via Slough, Windsor, and Legoland Windsor. Uses E400s.
Operated by Arriva The Shires:
724 - Heathrow Cen to Harlow via Uxbridge, Watford, St Albans, and Hertford. Uses Citaros.
755/757 - Victoria to Luton via Marble Arch, Brent Cross, and Luton Airport. Uses Tourismo coaches.
748/758/759 - Victoria to Hemel Hempstead via Marble Arch or King's Cross, then Brent Cross. Uses Tourismo coaches.
This video is filmed between Maple Cross, a small village just south of Rickmansworth, and Denham, a small town just north of Uxbridge. This section has 60mph roads, however I've heard that these buses are limited to 50. Still some nice thrash!
I apologise for the wind noise, these Citaros are a bit too airy, and windows couldn't be closed because of COVID.
NOTE: This was filmed way before the second lockdown. As non-essential travel will be allowed for the majority of country from December 2nd, please hold on for just a few more days until you're legally permitted to do so. If making an essential journey before then, please wear a face covering and use hand sanitizer to reduce the spread, and to make a third lockdown less likely.
