What I know about Kalchatti/ Soapstone vessel
🌱Maakalchatti is a natural softstone hand carved by artisans
🌱We cannot just use it as soon as you buy, we need to season it for a minimum of 3-4 weeks period in various stages
🌱We can pass on this to generations, the more the older it gets the more benefits it has got.
🌱These natural stones contains Calcium and magnesium in it which gets infused to our food when we cook, this is healthy option
🌱Heat is evenly distributed, the stone gets heated up evenly distributes the heat to the food hence it's said that the food is cooked only by the stone and not by the flame , hence there is no chance of food getting burnt.
🌱 When the food is cooked to 80% we can switch off flame, the eat retention capacity cooks the food further for 5-7 mins even after switching off flame. This in turn saves fuel
🌱Keeps the food fresh and warm for a long time. Food doesn't get spoiled soon as the fermentation process takes a long time this doesn't make food sour soon. Hence used as a curd pot in olden days.
🌱 Enhances the nutritive value also retains the nutrition and gives a distinct flavour to the food cooked in it.
🌱 Neutralize the acidic food , hence Tamarind based food tastes best and also will not cause gastric irritation/ acid reflux / stomach burn issues on long term usage
