The free standing 65feet high "Delicate Arch" is probably the most known arch im Arches National Park decorating Flyers and Books on american National Monuments. It takes you a 3.5 mile hiking from the Parks trail head on a leasurely hike through a unique landscape passing some beautiful petroglyphes showing an Indian herding his sheep on horseback near Wolfe Ranch pioneer cottage. Make sure you are arriving at the settin early in the morning or around sunset, when the red sandstone is glowing by the sunrise and the freestanding Arch throws his peculiar shaddow into an natural ampitheater of an old washout.
