Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio weather forecast for Oct. 2, 2023: Our calendar says October, but Mother Nature is stuck in August as sunshine and unseasonably warm highs in the low 80s can be expected once again Tuesday and then again on Wednesday. Overnight lows remain comfortable in the low 60s to upper 50s away from the cities.
Then the changes arrive. A potent Fall front is moving through the Rockies right now bringing rain and mountain snow to a good portion of the western US. This front will eject out in the Plains Wednesday and will begin to bring increased clouds to our area late in the day. By Thursday, the front will be on our doorstep with rain and a few storms moving in from the west. Exact timing on when the rain hits is still to be determined, but highs will likely hit into the 70s out ahead of any rain Thursday.
By Friday the front will be through and we'll go from leftover rain and clouds to some sunshine with highs still comfortably warm near 70. A secondary front will rush through Friday night into early Saturday and it's this front that we'll notice. Showers will kick up over the lake and blustery, chilly conditions will set in. Highs Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday of next week will struggle to get out of the 50s with overnight lows well into the 40s. Lake effect showers look likely, but a mix of sun and clouds can be expected for everyone else.
A little something for everyone over the next week! Get ready!
