Today we take a looksy at my Zygos and at a little project I've been running off camera! :D

For a while now I just had the funny impression that I've been treating my Zygopetalum Orchids more like epiphytes, rather than terrestrials. So I potted a few of them in a light, soil mix and some in my traditional bark and moss mix. And after only a few months of growth the differences are already too big to ignore!
The soil mix did a much better job with the overall condition of my Orchids, so I decided to move all of them and see if the improvements happen to the others as well. Well I guess the lack of aerial roots should be a giveaway of their terrestrial nature, even Draculas put out more aerial roots.. it's just hard to ignore the current literature. I think 7 years of Zygo troubles is enough reason to ignore the articles. Plus, in this way more plant lovers can build the courage to try Zygos, bark chips and things are not for everyone :P
