How to crochet for absolute beginners. There is an easy way for beginners to learn how to crochet. It is only necessary to learn just two stitches to make lots of things. There is no pattern to it, just a series of guides to help you get started. Beginners start using the bridges method, using just chain and slip stitch. Amazing crochet stitches and easy patterns make up this latch hook crocheted pig. Crocheting with a non traditional hook is new. It is now possible to learn how to crochet using a latch hook tool. This tool is usually used for making rag rugs. I have devised a new way to teach crochet making it easier for beginners to get started, particularly children. The latch hooking tool used to make the eye in this video is a tool generally used for picking up stitches when using a knitting machine. It is much smaller than a rug hook and can be used to make finer work made with finer yarns. The pig in this video is made using embroidery stranded cotton which gives a tighter fabric and means the work can become very detailed. The stitches used in in this design are the traditional stitches chain, slip stitch single crochet double crochet, half double and treble. Look out for the progress of this design as it becomes closer to being a part of a face.
