ACCA Qualification: Detailed Information on Syllabus, Cost, Scope, Entry Requirement | ACCA in Nepal
ACCA stands for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is a UK based professional accountancy qualification. This global body was founded in 1904 and has presence in 179 countries worldwide.
ACCA as a body provides different qualification, the main one being ACCA Membership qualification.
To qualify as an ACCA member, students’ progress through three elements
1. ACCA exams – One has to complete 13 exams spread across 3 levels, Applied Knowledge Level, Applied Skills level and strategic Professional level
2. An Ethics and Professional Skills Module – An online module which develops a complete range of skills an employer expects of an employee in the workplace.
3. Practical Experience requirement: All ACCA members are required to complete a minimum 36 months’ relevant work experience and achieve 9 performance objectives.
The qualification is open to all and you can start right after your grade 12 exams, be it in any stream Management, Science or Humanities. Students with relevant Bachelors Degree, Masters degree or a professional qualification like CA can start with some exemptions.
Students who start right after their grade 12 can complete their qualification in around 3-4 years with 3 years of practical experience all within the same period.
There are mainly 2 types of cost involved to pursue ACCA, one payable to college for Admission and course fees and other one being to ACCA for exams and registration. In Nepal the total cost to study comes around 5 to 5.2 lakhs including fees payable to ACCA.
