Bishop Vasa scripted an Easter Season message of Hope and Re-remembering Christ. Featuring Priests, Deacons, Principals, MSSR, and laity across the diocese. Editor: Martin Van Tassell.
Happy Easter, Christ has Risen!
Yet, this Easter season, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, still feels like Lent
Maybe Easter Sunday felt like Easter, but then Easter Monday… felt like Lent again
The Easter Season is still a time of great hope!
All 50 days of it
This Pandemic and suffering may be 100 or 200 days
but we must remember Christ's victory is forever!
We, a few members of the DIocese of Santa Rosa,
come together to assure you of our prayers
We pray for those who are suffering
We pray for those who have completed their earthly journeys
We pray for the grace to recognize and remember Christ
On the way to Emmaus, two disciples did not recognize Christ walking with them
But later saw him in the breaking of the Bread
Let us re-remember like those disciples and ask,
"were not our hearts burning within us as we listened to him
They did not see Jesus, but they remembered
They remembered with enthusiasm and joy
They remembered with hope and gratitude
He came to them in a time of dire distress
Today, we are in distress,
we are trapped and struggle to see Christ as clearly as we once did, But we too, remember
We are restricted from our usual faith associations but we remember
We remember in the burning of our hearts and we long for him to come again
We remember with enthusiasm and joy
We remember with hope and gratitude
For, Our Savior, comes to us in a time of dire distress
Christ has died for us. This we believe
Christ has risen. This we believe
Christ will come again. This we believe
For this we hope
For this we long
For this we hunger
During the time of separation, waiting, and uncertainty
May the Lord bless you and keep you
May he let his face shine upon you
May the Lord look kindly upon you
May the Lord grant you peace
