Rudolf Spielmann (05 May 1883 – 20 August 1942) was a Jewish-Austrian chess player of the romantic school, and chess writer.

He won at Abbazia 1912, Baden bei Wien 1914, Stockholm 1919 (Nordic Champion), Bad Pistyan 1922 and Semmering 1926.

Spielmann was German Champion in 1927 and tied for 3rd at St. Petersburg 1909.

He is the author of "The Art of Sacrifice in Chess"
