Incoming Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises Moses Kasibante has vowed not to attend any more committee sittings until the new leadership takes over from the team led by Bugweri MP Abdu Katuntu.
Kasibante’s comments follow the expiry of Katuntu’s tenure as chairperson on Sunday.
However, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has proposed an extension of the COSASE tenure until 20th February 2019, to allow the committee complete the probe into Bank of Uganda.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited meeting between the Speaker and the Leader of Opposition, to resolve the row over the tenure of COSASE did not take place because the Speaker got engaged in other duties
