Ioniq 5 Dog and Utility Mode
In this video I explain how the Ioniq 5 Dog Mode, or Camping Mode, or Utility Mode works.
It should also apply to the Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60 since they are built on the exact same platform and share a lot of the same features.
The dog mode in these electric cars are activated very easily through the entertainment screen.
Then you lock the doors, get out of the car, lock the driver door from the outside and the car will maintain the climate and other settings for a prolonged amount of time.
Also some tips:
- Use window shades to help keep the car cool
- put a sign up in the window explaining that the AC is on and the dogs are safe
- Maybe even buy a suction cup thermometer to display the inside temperature to a person looking into the car.
Using the dog, camping, utility mode in these electric cars doesn't even use a lot of energy.
For camping you can leave it on over night and it will drain the battery only about 10-15% over a 10 hour period.
